This course covers the general principles of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) circuit breakers, the main functions of LV and MV circuit breakers, the types of LV and MV circuit breakers and their methods of operation.
Large electrical systems rely on protective relays to continuously monitor critical equipment throughout a facility. The sensing quantities and operating characteristics for relays is also described in this course.
Protective relays have a variety of settings based on the level of protection required and the time for actuation of the relay. This course also explains the necessary balance of time delay characteristics and zones of protection.
