Qualifications

  • Vareika Construction, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with extensive field experience to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of field experience and minimum of 3 years office project management experience in the following areas of construction: multi-unit large scale wood frame renovations, kitchen and bath renovations, ADA compliant work, envelope repairs, and some historical work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Driver’s License
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • Construction Supervisor’s License
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • Coachable and trainable, willing to learn the ins and outs of Public Construction
  • Not required, but appreciated knowledge:
  • Familiarity with hand take-offs and estimating
  • Experience working on Public Construction Projects
  • 5 or more years of construction field experience
  • 3 or more years of construction project management experience
  • Related knowledge within restoration or new construction

Responsibilities

  • This person will also have knowledge of plan reading, building code, and hand take-offs
  • Working alongside Senior Project Management Staff, this role will be responsible for coordinating various construction operations from inception to completion
  • Close collaboration with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and field supervisors will be critical to success
  • The role will also involve budgeting, scheduling, and ensuring quality results on time
  • Manage and drive all stages of project lifecycle from preconstruction to closeout
  • Process submittals, material procurement, and production tracking
  • Provide on-site support and attend meetings as a representative of the company
  • Determine resource utilization on projects, such as manpower, equipment, and material storage
  • Support the company safety program and OSHA guidelines
  • Process change orders, requisitions, and project close outs
  • Provide guidance to foremen and superintendents to ensure company policies and procedures are upheld throughout the project
  • Ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications & drawings, are within budget and on schedule
