Qualifications
- The selected candidate must have a valid Massachusetts Licensed Journeyman Electrician license and keep up with all continuing education requirements
- S/he must also have at least 5 years of commercial, industrial, or building maintenance experience.
- The Electrician must be able to perform manual labor, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, climb ladders, and endure repetitive motion
- The candidate must pass a criminal background check, including national fingerprinting, and complete a pre-employment physical with a drug screen
- High school or equivalent (Required)

Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, and repairing wiring, fixtures, motors, generators, and related equipment using standard tools and testing devices
- The position supports electrical renovations and new installations in municipal buildings and grounds, coordinates with other departments, and oversees outside contractors when needed
- The Electrician obtains required permits and ensures all work complies with local and state codes, safety regulations, and building requirements
- This role also provides technical guidance to staff, responds to emergency situations outside normal work hours, and performs related duties as assigned
- This role includes both preventive maintenance and corrective repairs, ensuring compliance with local and state codes
- The position also involves coordinating with other departments, supervising contractors or team members when necessary, and utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
