Qualifications
•Working knowledge of the operation, care, service and minor maintenance and adjustment to equipment
•Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions involved in operating equipment
•Working knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, rules and regulations
•Ability to operate all construction and maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
•Ability to understand and to follow oral and written instructions
•Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
•May work in a skilled position if not operating equipment
•Must have a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and Hoisting License 2A or 2B with 4E endorsement
•High School diploma or equivalent
•First Aid course certificate
Responsibilities
•This is skilled work in any operating equipment used in the construction, repair and maintenance of public works facilities and activities
•Work involves responsibility for safe and efficient operation of construction and maintenance equipment
•Will perform as a skilled employee when not operating equipment
•Operates rollers, front-end loaders, backhoes, sweeper, graders, Bobcat’s and other specialized heavy motorized equipment used in the construction and maintenance of public works activities
•Operates equipment determined by public works supervisor
