Qualifications
- Candidates with a background in construction site experience, utility work, and heavy equipment operation are encouraged to apply
- Proven experience operating excavators and heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks
- Strong knowledge of construction utility work including utility locating and installation processes
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to safety procedures on-site
- Ability to operate other construction machinery including backhoes, loaders, graders, horizontal drills, and caterpillar equipment
- Knowledge of equipment safety procedures and general heavy equipment operation standards
- Construction site experience with an emphasis on safety regulations ensures a reliable performance in dynamic environments

Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy construction machinery, primarily excavators, to perform various excavation and grading tasks on commercial and utility projects
- This role requires a strong understanding of construction safety regulations, equipment maintenance, and site operations to ensure efficient and safe project completion
- This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing advanced machinery such as dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks in accordance with project specifications
- Perform excavation tasks including trenching, grading, and site preparation while adhering to safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of construction equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety compliance
- Assist with utility locating and installation work as needed for construction utility projects
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times
- Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow on the construction site
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly
- Support other construction activities such as paving, horizontal drilling, or tanker operations as required by project scope
