Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in sitework or heavy civil construction
- Strong ability to run an excavator for utility and pipe installation
- Experience with grade control, pipe lasers, and layout
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and elevations
- 2A/1C Hydraulics License (required)
- OSHA 10 Certification (required)
- Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to lift 70–80 lbs and perform physical labor as needed
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities
- In this hands-on role, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment to support the safe and efficient development of construction sites, with a strong focus on water, sewer, and drainage installation
- Your expertise will play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects built to precise grade and specification
- Equipment Operation & Sitework
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and dump trucks for:
- Site preparation, grading, and trenching
- Backfilling and material handling
- Perform fine grading and excavation work with attention to line and grade
- Safely work around existing utilities and active job sites
- Utility & Pipe Installation
- Excavate for and assist in installation of:
- Water mains (ductile iron – all sizes)
- Sewer mains (PVC, concrete, ductile iron)
- Drainage systems, manholes, and infiltration systems
- Set and maintain grade using pipe lasers and grade control tools
- Assist with installation of mechanical fittings, valves, and hydrants
- Locate and expose existing utilities as required
- Read and interpret blueprints, elevations, and site plans
- Collaborate with foremen and crew members to execute work efficiently
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
- Ability to climb equipment, work in trenches, and navigate uneven terrain
- Typical schedule: 8–10+ hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays
- Work across multiple job sites
