Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy machinery and equipment on construction sites
- This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations
- Proven experience in construction site operations
- Digging foundations
- Prepping residential lots
- Installing septic systems
- Installing utilities (water, sewer, gas, electric)
- Ensure work meets all safety and compliance standards
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment and machinery
- Proficiency in operating rollers, loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Benefits
- Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, dozers, and cranes
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Safely transport materials using dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and front loader trucks
- Collaborate with team members to execute construction projects efficiently
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery on-site
- Assist in the setup and teardown of construction sites as needed
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance
- Read and interpret site plans
- Coordinate with civil and structural engineers on project specifications
