Qualifications

•Add water to crusher every hour, open valve and run for 10 seconds

•Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand/walk up to 10 hours

•Be able to pass a necessary physical and pre-employment drug screen

•Be willing to work overtime as needed

•Have basic computer skills

•Have excellent fork truck skills

•Have reliable transportation

•Have the ability to do PMs and perform basic repairs on equipment as needed

•Have the ability to follow directions and work on his own

•Have the ability to perform basic math calculations

•Have the ability to troubleshoot processes in order to detect and fix quality issues

•Have the ability to use basic hand tools, i.e. wrenches, screw drivers, mallets

•Have the ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing production demands

•Understand quality requirements and communicate with supervision to alert as needed

•When necessary, perform basic quality assurance tests

•Possess a Massachusetts Hoisting License for either 2A, 2B or 2C to operate a front end loader

 

Responsibilities

•The Heavy Equipment Operator will work with and directly report to the plant’s Production Foreman

•The Operator will be directly involved in the monitoring and operation of several pieces of crushing and grading equipment

•This position will work with various sizes of abrasive grain and put those grains into containers for customer shipments or store in one of several warehouse locations throughout the plant

•The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for working harmoniously and safely within a team environment

•Be willing to work safely and efficiently while meeting daily production targets

•Check Crusher every 3 hours for worn parts, replace tips as needed and fill out log

•Check elevators for holes, ensure feed boxes are not "jammed"

•Check if tanks 1, 2 and 3 are full, (if light is on tank is full)

•Check Pits 1 through 6 and tunnel every hour

•Clean the work platforms and catwalks each shift

•Come to work on time and demonstrate overall good attendance and availability to work

•Conduct chain hoist inspection

•Conduct final inspection of Pits and Tunnel

•Conduct housekeeping throughout shift

•Conveyor check for torn belts, listen for mechanical issues

•Dump Mag Tails into 55-gallon drum

•Fill, transport, palletize, stack, and organize drums, super sacks and bags of abrasive grain

•Inspect Dust Collectors for proper operation,

•Inspect for mechanical deficiencies, holes, breakdowns, lubrication needs, etc

•Inspect H Building prior to starting for any equipment or material issues

•Inspect Rotex for proper operation, check boots for holes, change if needed

•Log start/stop of Vibrating Feeder to #2 Conveyor

•Open Remco Crusher door for oncoming shift

•Perform basic housekeeping tasks autonomously

•Pits 1 through 6, are they free ofgrain, trash, debris, etc. at the end of each shift

•Use / maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)

•Weigh, record and empty Dust collector bins at the end of your shift

•Pay range: $26.00-$29.00 per hour, based on experience
