Qualifications

•The Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience with setting armor stone for Jetty’s and breakwaters, stone size ranging from 5-15-tons, while meeting the Army Corps of Engineers' spec of interlocking (all sides) and working with material handler that are mounted onto a jack up barge

•Demonstrated experience setting armor stone with a hanging grapple required***

•Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate and control various heavy equipment used in excavation, such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and skid-steer machines

•Grading and Leveling: Possess expertise in grading and leveling techniques to create smooth and even surfaces for construction projects

•Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions, weather, and project requirements that may arise during excavation operations

•Willingness to travel:

 

Responsibilities

•Setting 5-10 ton Armor stone onto a jetty from a jack up barge using an excavator and/or material handler

•Operate and control heavy equipment used in excavation operations, such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and loaders

•Safely and efficiently maneuver and control the equipment to excavate and move earth, rock, debris, and other materials as required

•Perform site preparation and grading tasks to ensure proper foundations for construction projects

•Dig trenches, ditches, and holes for various purposes, including utility installation, drainage, and landscaping

•Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications to accurately execute excavation tasks

•Coordinate with other team members, including laborers and site supervisors, to ensure smooth and safe operations

•Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine maintenance to ensure functionality and prevent breakdowns

•Comply with all safety regulations and best practices, ensuring a safe work environment for oneself and others

•Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure project deadlines are met

•Adhere to environmental regulations and guidelines, especially when working near sensitive areas or water bodies

•Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to coordinate tasks, report progress, and address any concerns

•Time Management: Efficiently manage work tasks and complete excavation projects within designated timelines and deadlines

•Understanding of Blueprints: Interpret and apply project plans, blueprints, and layout diagrams to execute excavation tasks accurately

•Drainage and Erosion Control: Understand the principles of drainage and erosion control to implement measures during excavation that prevent water-related issues
