Qualifications

•The candidate should be a motivated self-starter with the ability to read plans for Site and Utility Projects and determine how to stage a project efficiently and understand next-steps to work toward the completion of the project

•The ideal candidate should have leadership experience and be able to work with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced environment

•Must hold a current hoisting 2-A license

•Must possess a valid unrestricted Driver’s License

•Physically, a worker must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands and be able to stand, walk, or sit for long periods, use arms, hands and feet to reach for, handle and manipulate objects

•The carrying of tools and equipment, stooping, kneeling and crouching and the ability to see well (either naturally or with correction)

•Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs

•Hoisting License 2A (Required)

•Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED

•A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more

Responsibilities

•The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely excavating, sorting and loading material as well as installing and/or removing utilities

•The operator is also responsible for performing pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment

•Safely and efficiently operate equipment that may include: excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards

•Ability to work onsite unsupervised or take on jobsite tasks alone or while directing others (L1-L2-O1-O2) to complete tasks

•Self-start – ability to forecast what comes next during jobsite tasks and prepare for them

•Understand Elevation - Shoot benchmark(s) with laser level

•Determine efficient laser level positioning to see benchmark and task location

•Determine grade rod reading (target location on rod) based on benchmark elevation to perform current task

•Understand Plan Reading - Layout projects onsite after given plan / drawings Understands detail drawings and subgrade information and how that effects grading or elevation (grade rod readings)

•Knowledgeable about site logistics and laydown / material stockpile areas and how to properly / efficiently stage a jobsite so materials are not re-handled unnecessarily

•Operates power equipment such as excavators, backhoes and front end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers to excavate or move dirt, rock, sand, gravel and other materials

•Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging

•Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards

•Inspects and maintains equipment as required

•Perform manual labor using hand tools, including: digging, spreading and leveling dirt, gravel or sand; and, mixing, pouring and spreading concrete and asphalt

•Work harmoniously, cooperatively and courteously with others at all times

•Adhere to all Company Safety Policies

•Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required
