Qualifications

•Must have a minimum of a State of Massachusetts Journeyman

•A Masters Plumbing License, sprinkler fitters

•Ability to read and work from blueprints, diagrams, sketches and

•Must have or obtain Class I Waste Water

•Treatment Plant Operator's License within one (1) year of

•Must have a working knowledge of sprinkler and fire protection

•Must be familiar with OSHA

•Position will require working in a non- plumbing /

•mechanical capacity when necessary, as well as, but not limited to

•Must possess a valid Massachusetts Plumber's license,

•Massachusetts Journeyman Pipefitter's license or Massachusetts Oil

•Burner Technician's license

•Must be skilled in the use of tools and equipment of the

•Must have the ability to effectively interact with people at a

•variety of different levels with a focus on customer needs

•Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 50 lbs

•May use chain falls and come alongs for heavier lifting

•Must be able to push and pull heavy loads as required

•Must be able to stoop and bend for long periods of time; work

•Must be able to work alone and climb multiple sets of stairs,

•A valid driver's license required

•This position is 40 hours a week

•This position requires a criminal background check

 

Responsibilities

•Under the supervision of the Suburban Trades Manager, join a team

•of trades persons to perform a variety of duties to ensure the

•upkeep and safety of the Burlington, Nahant and Dedham Campuses;

•the ideal candidate will be comfortable assisting other trades as

•needed to complete necessary tasks

•Position will be expected to

•perform duties as required, in all Plumbing/Mechanical maintenance

•Plumbing: Maintenance, installation and upkeep of pumps, fixtures,

•Assembly, layout, installation, repair and maintenance of

•non-potable water, and other plumbing related systems, including

•Install Fire suppression system piping &

•components for main campus and satellite locations according to

•specifications and plumbing / NFPA codes

•variety of piping and related accessories, such as fittings,

•valves, fixtures, flushometers, and other components involved in

•Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks,

•Maintain plumbing by repair or replacement of leaky faucets;

•service and correct ruptured lines and open clogged drains using

•piping: Make repairs to sprinkler piping systems as required,

•replace / relocate sprinkler heads

•skilled in the use of tools and equipment of the steam fitting and

•Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate installation and

•repair of pipe and pipe fittings using hand tools and power tools

•Cut and thread pipe, using pipe cutters

•caulk joints

•responding to overtime and emergency call-ins as required or

•directed to ensure proper plant operations

•piping and equipment in excess of 200 lbs

•periods; routinely walk to and from various buildings carrying

•Must be able to work overtime as needed

•Occasionally, the Plumber will be required to provide coverage on
