This course is a 4-hour self-paced online course.
The first segment discusses how contracting parties deal with construction delays, giving actual and hypothetical examples, including references to actual court decisions describing the principles discussed.
The second segment covers identifying and mitigating project risk in the construction industry as it pertains to events, conditions, positive or negative effects to goals, and overall success of the construction project. It will also go over the essential parts of the management process of basic construction estimating, navigating the steps and rules to follow to execute sound construction estimates for successful construction projects.
The third segment reviews most of Wisconsin Admin. Code Chapter ATCP 110: Home Improvement Practices. Topics include prohibited trade practices, home improvement contract requirements, contract compliance, and more.
The final segment reviews Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code SPS 321 Subchapter II (Design Criteria). Topics include natural light and natural ventilation, ceiling height, protection against decay and termites, and more.
This course includes a 40-question review quiz, which is equivalent to 10 questions for each credit hour of training.

Only courses, programs and seminars approved in writing by the department shall be used for credit to fulfill continuing education requirements. After Act 237 goes into effect on Nov. 1, 2022, there is an additional requirement that four of the twelve hours address the subjects of “construction laws and codes and contracts, liability, and risk management.”

A renewal notice will be mailed to each licensee at least 30 calendar days prior to expiration date.
