Submitting your Massachusetts hoisting renewal through the state's website can be difficult. So we developed our own user-friendly electronic hoisting license renewal system that does the thinking for you.

We are proud to say, we are the only MA Hoisting Continuing Education provider to offer this benefit to customers.

Please note, it can take 3-7 days after submission for the state to initiate your renewal process.

MA Hoisting License holders are required to hold a current D.O.T. Medical Card, a service for which many physicians charge between $100 - $130. We've teamed up with several physicians across the state to offer this service for only $85. This service is only being offered through At Leisure!

Schedule your appointment with our easy online scheduler and choose between several convenient locations across the state of Massachusetts.

This offer never expires, so even if you are not due to renew your DOT Medical Card any time soon, you will still be able to take advantage when the time comes, just for being our customer.

Our website was built on one foundation: ease of use! Our software is custom built to deliver you the best user experience possible.

FAQs:

You can complete your continuing education for your Mass. Hoisting License anytime during your two year renewal cycle. Hold onto your certificates of completion, because you can't renew your license until your renewal window opens, 60 days before your expiration date. At Leisure also keeps copies of your certificates, so you can request them anytime from us!

If you look on the back of your MA Hoisting license, you will see all license grades listed.

Alternatively, you can search the Office of Public Safety & Inspections (OPSI)'s License Verification Site.

Your MA Hoisting license should display your expiration date. MA Hoisting licenses expire every two years on the licensee's birthday. Your first renewal cycle may be less than two years.

You can also check your expiration date by searching the Office of Public Safety & Inspections (OPSI)'s License Verification Site.

If your Massachusetts Hoisting license goes into expired status, you have a one-year grace period during which you can renew without penalty. It is not legal to operate equipment while your license is in expired status.

To get your license into active status again, simply complete your continuing education and submit your renewal paperwork as soon as possible within one year of your original expiration date. Once you renew, your new expiration date will be two years from your original expiration date (on your birthday).

In the event you pass that one-year grace period, your license will go into Null and Void status. At this point, you must retake the exam to obtain a new hoisting license.

At times, it can take the Office of Public Safety and Inspections (OPSI) a bit of time to process your hoisting license renewal paperwork, and even longer to mail out your new license.

You can check whether they have processed your paperwork by checking the OPSI License Verification Site. Simply enter your hoisting license number (example: HE-123456) in the "License Number" field and click Search. Locate your name in the results, and click the blue hyperlink where your name is. You can check the "Date of Last Renewal" and "Expiration Date" fields to see if your license has been renewed.

If your Date of Last Renewal was within the last month, your new license may still be in the mail. If it's been over a month, your license may have been sent to the wrong address or may have been lost in the mail. You can request that a new license be sent via the OPSI's licensing portal. For more information, visit the Request a Duplicate Hoisting Engineer License page on Mass.gov.

If your license has not yet been renewed, the OPSI may still be processing your hoisting renewal paperwork. If it has been less than three weeks since your renewal was submitted, they are likely still processing it. If it has been more than three weeks, you may want to follow up with the OPSI by emailing OPSI-info@mass.gov. Make sure you include your full hoisting license (including the prefix HE-) in the subject line.
